Dera Premis-Sikhs row : Hardliners gives ultimatum for release of Sikhs and arrest of Dera Premis

Ferozepur, March 9, 2017:  After the cross-case registered at Mallanwala police station, both – Dera Premis and Sikh Organisations are demanding the arrest of each other’s followers, involved in the case of disrupting of ‘naam charcha’ – congregation on February 25 at Mallwanwala.

Following the complaint by Bawainder Singh of Baggewala village, Ferozepur police  have booked 22 Dera Sacha Sauda followers by name and 30-35 unidentified persons in a cross-case under Sections 294, 328, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC at the Mallanwala police station.

 Balwinder had alleged in his statement given to the police  that ‘premis’ threw chilli powder into their eyes and thwarted their peaceful protest by attacking them with baseball bats and sticks.

 Earlier, the police had arrested 18 Sikh hardliners, including Baba Dilbagh Singh of Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj, who were booked on the charge of attempting to disrupt a ‘naam charcha’ being organised by ‘premis’ in the Makhu block on February 19, and subsequently in Mallanwala on February 25.

Giving a warning to the police administration, Sikh Organisations – Ek Noor Khalsa Fouj District President Lakhbir Singh, Raj Karega Khalsa Dal leader Maloot Singh, International Panthak Dal’s Satnam Singh Walia, Sikh Students Federation Mehta leader Jasplal Singh and various others said, in case the Sikhs are not released by March 18, 2017, the organization will organize protest throughout the Punjab and in the event of any untoward incident, the district and police administrations will be solely responsible for the same.

They said, the alleged accused are still planning a conspiracy against the Sikhs and demanded for arrest of  dera premis.
