Ferozepur, March 23, 2023: Today, on Martyrdom Day, floral tributes were paid to martyrs Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India and made an unparalleled contribution to our freedom struggle.He also laid wreaths at the samadhi of B.K.Dutt and Raj Mata. The National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala was given a face lift and the entire area was fully decorated.

 

The three freedom fighters were hanged to death by Britishers on March 23, 1931, in the Lahore conspiracy case.

He was accompanied by Cabinet Minister, Meet Hayer and MLAs Ranbir Singh Bhullar and Rajnish Dahiya and administrative officials.

Later, on way back, he also inaugurated the Souvenir Sale Centre at Hussainiwala where the ‘Yadgari Chinh’ in the shape of clocks, shirts, caps etc besides books on Bhagat Singh will also be available for the visitors.

Speaking to the media persons, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann in his poetic style sharing a couplets about the Inqlab – “Is kadar janti meri tabiyat ke bare me meri kalam, Ke ishq bhi likha hun to Inqlab likha jata jai” –  said, many dreams of the martyrs have not yet been fulfilled. The youth who have gone astray will be brought on the right path and will be given jobs.

CM said, the Ferozepur border town will be made a Tourism City with development to attract the tourists from country and abroad as well.

 

He said cash prizes will be given to the youths who win medals in the national and international level games besides extending facilities to the ex-sportsmen who are experts in their particular sports.

The CM said, we are running the government after asking the people, understanding their difficulties, whether it is a farmer or an industrialist or a common man.

He said, it is for the first time in the history of Punjab that on winning in majority, the pledge ceremony was held by visiting the ancestral village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan.  He said, we must make efforts to make the country as per the dreams of the martyrs.  The martyrs were not worried about the freedom of the country, they were more worried as to which power will be.

We are trying to unravel the wrongs during the last  75 years, to provide the best services to the people in every field.

He said, education is the third eye of the person.  If we raise the standard of our education, the youths can enjoy all the facilities here and need not to move out of the country.

 

He said the martyrs remain alive while the governments are changed.  The martyrs will remain of their age of youth. We have now started remembering them by keeping the institutions by their names.
