AISF & AIYF jointly organizes Long March to advocate Bhagat Singh National Employment Guarantee Act (BNEGA)

Ferozepur, September 8, 2017:  The All India Students Federation (AISF) and All India Youth Federation (AIYF) have organized ‘Long March’ started from Kanyakumari on July 15 which will culminate at the land of martyrs – Hussainiwala on September 12.

 

Speaking to the media persons, Charanjit Singh Changarai, President AISF and Parmjit Singh Dhaba, President, AIYF in a press conference held in Press Club, Ferozepur said – the Long March has been organized to create awareness and to advocate for passing the Bhagat Singh National Employment Guarantee Act – BNEGA – in the Parliament for  employment to all and to highlight the others demands of the youths – free and compulsory education to all, scientific education, besides election reforms, security in the public sector and to stop the attacks on the minority community.

 

Dhaban said, the Long March will reach the Punjab, with participation of more than 500 delegates, on September 9 at Chandigarh and culminate at the land of martyrs on September 12 at Hussainiwala via KhatKar Kalan on September 10 the ancestral village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Punjab University Patiala, and in the evening at Moga on September 11 and at Hussainiwala National Martyrs Memorial on September 12.

 

He said, on this entire route the youths of Punjab will welcome with revolutionary enthusiasm and join the Long March up to Hussaniwala on motorcycles, scooters, buses and welcomed by the youths of Punjab with red shirts printed – “We Want BNEGA” with decorated jeep.

 

In reply to the queries from media, Dhaban said, Bhagat Singh is the role model of youths who sacrificed for the freedom of India.

 

For more than 90 lac unemployed youths in Punjab, he said, in the proposed Act  – Bhagat Singh National Employment Guarantee Act – BNEGA, we have divided the employment in four categories – Unskilled to be paid minimum Rs.20,000, semi-skilled Rs.25,000, skilled Rs.30,000 and highly skilled Rs.35,000 per month with provision of unemployment allowance till such time the job is provided minimum 50% of the proposed wages but not less than Rs.10,000.

 

Dhaban said, the gap between the rich and poor is increasing day by day but the revolutionary thinking is still alive and this Long March has been organized to show the right path to the youths.

 

He said,  even after more than 7 decades of our independence, we are still facing number of problems and we have to work on ‘Save India, Change India’ slogan which can bring change practically as the real development will be only if the people will prosperous.

 

Dhaban said, the highest numbers of youths in the world are in India and it is very unfortunate that even PhD passed have applied for 368 posts advertised of class IV in UP against the requirement of 8th class and know to drive cycle.

 

He said, there is need to take immediate action for employment guarantee to youths otherwise youths will side track from the real path of life.

 

At the end, in reply to the query, he agreed, the real progress of India will be when India will start exporting its products to China.
