Asstt Supdt leads successful mobile, banned items seizure in Ferozepur jail

Ferozepur, August 4, 2024: The recent discovery of contraband items in Ferozepur Jail highlights ongoing security challenges. The mobiles and various banned items seizure have become a regular feature, during surprise search operations, passed on to the jail inmates through visitation, throwing of packets over the high walls and other banned items.  The connivance of the security staff or lack of security arrangements cannot be ruled out.

In the recent search by the Assistant Superintendent, 6 mobiles, one each headphone, charger, and data cable were seized from two Ferozepur Jail inmates identified as Gurpiara Singh, and Mukhtiar Singh under trial and an unidentified person.

This brings the total number of seized mobile phones to 84 for the current year along with other banned items, as of date from the inmates or the packets thrown from the outside over the high walls.

Mobile is the most wanted gadget inside the jail to remain connected with the outer world, for illegal activities by the criminal inmates.
