Ferozepur, July 7, 2024:  The Ferozepur police today organized a Seminar, as part of the “Navekali Pahal” anti-drug campaign, Ferozepur Police with a special focus on the ill effects of drugs at Medicity Hospital, Ferozepur, presided over by Ajay Maluja, DIG Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur.

The event was also dedicated to the late Smt Swadesh Chopra’s 8th death anniversary today of Chopra Family and Punjab Kesari Group of Newspapers.

Present among others were SPs, CEO of DCM Group Anirudh Gupta, Subodh Kakkar, Director Medicity, Smt. Paramjit Kaur Sodhi, Sr.Journalist, Punjab Kesari,  representatives of various NGOs, and senior citizens.

In collaboration with Medicity Hospital, we also organized a free check-up camp for drug addicts who want to quit, said DIG. We appeal to everyone to support us in our mission to eradicate drugs from society. Together, we can make a difference, he added.

Quoting a Hindi couplet – एक पत्थर की भी तक़दीर सँवर सकती है, शर्त ये है कि सलीक़े से तराशा जाए (Ek pathar ki bhi taqdeer sanwar sakti hai, Sharat ye hai ki salike se tarasha jai), DIG Maluja said, any individuals struggling with drug addiction can certainly recover and lead fulfilling lives, especially when they receive comprehensive support and treatment from skilled professionals. The key factors include a commitment to change, a supportive environment, and access to quality treatment resources. But, it could be possible only with the cooperation of both ways, he added.
