Ferozepur police solve murder mystery within 48 hours, arrest one
Ferozepur, July 20, 2024 – The Ferozepur police have solved a murder mystery within 48 hours, arresting Jaswant Singh alias Nikka from village Ratta Khera, Punjab Singh Wala.
Soumya Mishra, SSP, revealed that the case was registered following a complaint by Major Singh from village Darapur in Moga district. Major Singh accused his son-in-law, Jaswant Singh (32), of murdering his daughter Charanjit Kaur due to a marital dispute.
A team was formed under the guidance of SP(I) along with DSP Rural to investigate the murder. Jaswant Singh allegedly strangled his wife Charanjit Kaur alias Soni on July 13 in a water motor room in Darapur village. He then transported her on his Activa, with her mouth masked and hands tied, and disposed of the body in a canal near Punjab Singh Wala.
The police arrested Jaswant Singh on July 16 while he was heading towards Ratta Khera, Punjab Singh Wala. Further investigations are ongoing with the accused now in remand.
