DIG Ferozepur Range launches plantation drive in Ferozepur, plants ‘Bohar Sapling’ at Police Line
Ferozepur, July 12, 2024: As a part of Plantation Drive in Punjab, on a call from CM Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Punjab, the plantation drive was also launched in Ferozepur by Ajay Maluja, DIG, Ferozepur Range by planting ‘Bohar Sapling’ (Banyan Tree) at Police Lines, Ferozepur.
Ajay Maluja, DIG said, this plantation drive has been started in all the three districts of Ferozepur Range. Around 5,000 saplings will be planted in the Ferozepur Range under the slogan “Aao Rukh Lagaiye, Dharti Maa nu Bachayiae”. This initiative of the police is to create a pollution-free environment
The other officers and officials present also planted the saplings of different species in the campus of Police Linse, Ferozepur and a similar plantation drive has been started in the Fazilka and Tarn Taran districts of Ferozepur Range, said DIG.
DIG Maluja emphasized the importance of nurturing and caring for samplings with the same dedication and attention one would give to their children as it underscores the responsibility of ensuring their growth and well-being. He asked all the officers and officials present to take special care of newly planted saplings as their growth into mature plants or trees takes time but will give a pollution-free environment to the next generations.
