Ferozepur, September 7, 2021: For the upcoming National Achievement Survey (NAS), Kulwinder Kaur, District Education Officer sensitize the principals and nodal in-charges of private schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya by holding a meeting, as per the directions of the Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar.
Notably, NAS is a national-level survey conducted by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) periodically. This survey aims at assessing the learning achievement of children in classes 3, 5, 8 and 10. NAS was last conducted in 2017, in which only the government-run schools were surveyed. But this year all private schools will also be included in it.
The school authorities from a total of 245 schools were asked to gear up their students and teachers for NAS, which is slated to be held on November 12. Deputy DEO Komal Arora and DEO Primary Rajiv Chabra discussed the importance of the survey and how it is necessary for all the stakeholders of the education sector to accomplish the survey successfully.
District Mentor, English Gurwinder Singh and Coordinator Primary Mohinder Shelly discussed in detail about how NAS preparation is going in government schools and how the private schools can also follow that pattern to prepare their students for it.
Baldev Singh, State Resource Person, who has been allotted district Ferozepur for the successful preparation of NAS, asked the private school principals to gear up for the upcoming NAS. A detailed training for the teachers working in private schools will be conducted soon, he added.
