3 deaths, 229 COVID-19 positive surfaced in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 14, 2021: Three deaths and 229 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Ferozepur taking the total tally of positive cases in Ferozepur, as on date to 9,613 positive cases and 292 deaths, since the outbreak of virus in the district.
In the last four days, 5 youths of the age group between 28-40 years have died due to Coronavirus.
Civil Surgeon said, we are getting regular supply of oxygen for serious corona patients. Since the virus has spread in the rural areas, there is a need to create awareness. She made an appeal to the people to continue to follow the Covid guidelines from health department from time to time and go out of home only in emergent need only that too avoiding the crowded places. She said, anyone on noticing any symptoms of high fever, cough, and body pains, must go in for Covid test without any loss of time, to go ahead with treatment accordingly.
As per record 1,46,352 samples were taken, out of which 1,33,919 were reported negative, 9,613 positive, 8,090 recovered and still 1,541 cases were active while the result of 700 samples are still awaited.
Among three deaths, two are female of 29 and 60 years old in Zira and Ferozepurr Blocks and one female of 62 years in Guruharsahai block.
In the vaccination drive, 471 persons of 45 plus age including frontline and health workers were given Covid vaccination and so far, 86,741 persons have been vaccinated in the district.
