Two mobiles recovered from washroom inside barrack of Central Jail
Ferozepur, May 14, 2021: Recovery of mobiles – the most wanted facility sought inside jail – from inmates is unabated and during the search operation, two mobiles have been recovered from the washroom inside the barrack of central jail.
Earlier also on a number of times the mobiles have been recovered from inside the jail or packets or balls thrown from outside over the high walls and involvement of jail officials for smuggling in the banned items.
With the recovery of mobiles from inside the jail, it has put a question mark on lack of the security arrangements at the entry points and losing the purpose of keeping the prisoners away from the society as a punishment.
As per the details of the complaint lodged by Assistant Superintendent, Sukhwant Singh, on Thursday, during the search operation, one mobile was recovered from prisoner under trial Rahul of Samsung Key pad of BSNL and one from the washroom inside the barrack of Nokia keypad, both with battery and SIM cards.
A case under Prisons Act has been registered at Police Station City and further investigations are on with appointment of Baldev Singh as IO in the case.
