5 deaths, 180 Covid-19 +ve cases surfaced in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, May 1, 2021:  With 5 deaths and 180 Covid-19 positive cases reported on Saturday, the total tally has of deaths have gone to 224 and positive active cases to 1244 in the district.

During the month of April, 2,383 positive cases have surfaced with 55 deaths.  However, there had been recovery of 1474 positive cases.

Time and again, the district administration, health department and police officials are making an appeal to the citizens to follow the Covid-19 guidelines in this alarming situation.  An appeal has also been made by health officials, to get vaccinated another safety measure to fight coronavirus.

As per the information, 1,32,630 samples were taken for Covid testing since its break in this part, out of which 1,18,475 were negative, 7,809 positive, 6,346 recovered leaving active cases to 1,244 while the report of 1,200 samples was still awaited.

The death toll due to corona in the district is 224 including five of today, 2 in Mamdot, 2 in Feroeur Urban and one in Ferozshah blocks between the age of 30 to 82 years.

Under the vaccination drive, 70,702 persons have been given the Corona vaccination dose to 45 plus years including the front and health line workers.
