213th Louis Braille’s birth anniversary celebrated at Home for the Blinds

Ferozepur,  January 4, 2022:  213th birthday of Louis  Braille – – (Jan 4, 1809 – Jan. 6, 1852) – inventor of six-dots raised language punched on a card sheet to be ready by visually impaired persons – was celebrated today at Home for the Blind, Ferozepur.

The birthday of Louis Braille was celebrated by paying floral tributes by the inmates. Yakoob Ali read out the book in Braille on Information to Voters by the Election Commission of India.

Yakoob a student of B.A.Final said, the Braille language has brought a revolution of avenues in the visually impaired class.  Louis Braille was a French educator and inventor of a system of reading and writing for use by the blind or visually impaired. His system remains virtually unchanged to this day and is known worldwide simply as Braille.  He said, the language has helped them to progress in various fields of education, music, skill development; call centers.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Sethi, Manager said, the Braille language has brought a revolution of avenues in the visually impaired class.  Louis Braille was a French educator and inventor of a system of reading and writing for use by the blind or visually impaired. The Braille language brought a revolution in the lives of visually impaired person and they started competing in every field.

Ramesh Sethi, Manager, Home for the Blind said, there are 41 inmates in the school, out of which 32 are school and college-going and pursuing Plus One onward classes. During the last year, 27 inmates have joined the government service against the reserved quota for handicaps.

He appealed to the people that besides donating to any other institution, they should also come forward to help the Home for the Blinds, which is being run purely on volunteer donations.
