Ferozepur, December 19, 2022:  Sanyukt Kissan Morcha has come forward in support of the protestors and the people have started gathering at the protest site, despite dense fog.

Meanwhile, in two different FIRs, 37 and 33 more persons along with 200/250 and 25/30 unidentified persons have been booked under Sections 283, 353, 186, 341, 188, 148, 149 IPC and 8 B National Highway Act 1956. In the first FIR 192 and 193/18.12.2022, 11 have been booked and four arrested for violation of implementation of High Court orders for operation of factory and blocking of National Highway are Fateh Singh, Balraj Singh, Jagsir Singh, and Sukhchain Singh.

As per the report, today morning, the police raided at the residence of Baldev Singh Zira an activist in the dharna and his wife is being threatened.

However, the second gate of the factory was made operational to access the unit, facilitated by local administration, confirmed Chief Managing Director, Pawan Bansal.

The police cops are however, avoiding the direct confrontation with the protesters, who had started Akhand Path of Guru Granth Sahib at the protest site.

After police action to lift the sit-in dharna in front of Malbros Liquor Factory, the protest by the villagers is still continuing and not to accept any proposal except over closure of the factory, blaming the unit for polluting the environment, in leading groundwater, leading to the low yield from the fields. There had been dead-lock over the issue even after the visit of Cabinet Minister at Zira after meeting of 11-member committee of protesters with the Chief Minister.
