Three mobiles and banned items recovered from two packets thrown inside jail

Ferozepur, January 5, 2022:  On the second consecutive day three more mobiles were recovered from the inmates at Central Jail Ferozepur along with ‘zarda’ and intoxicant powder.

Divulging with the details, the jail official said, one mobile with batter but without SIM card was recovered from prisoner under trial Amandeep Singh who was sitting in barrack number 12 instead of allotted barrack number 5. Apart from this two small sachets of white colour powder wrapped in a plastic envelope, which looks to be intoxicant material weighing 1.50 gm was also recovered.

In another search, two mobiles were recovered, one from old barrack number 11 lying in the bathroom with battery and SIM card and one behind the TV without SIM card as unclaimed.  In the third raid, 31 sachets of ‘zarda’ in two packets thrown from outside were recovered.

Meanwhile, a case under Sections 52-A/42 of Prisons Act has been registered and further investigations are on with the IOs.
