Threat from inmate – a question mark over jail authority’s role
Ferozepur November 23, 2017: A threatening call from inside the jail from an inmate has put a big question mark on the role of jail authorities.
Sometime back, a jail inmate from Faridkot was live on Facebook threatening the security arrangements of the jail and now another case of a threatening call from Bhatinda jail has come to notice stopping to appear as the witness in the court case.
Few days back, Sukhjinder Singh resident of Golden Enclave has lodged a complaint with the police and a case has been registered against Lalit, Dharmu, Tejinder Jung, Nima, Angrez and Kalu under sections 506, 120B IPC and 67 IT Act after the thorough investigation by Avtar Singh IO.
As per the crime report, the complainant and his brother were injured by visiting their shop in the cantonment area and a case was registered with the police under No.22/13.
Sukhjinder Singh has alleged for getting threatening calls from Lali alias Lalit Kumar from an inmate involved in the murder of two youths in Bhatinda jail and a renowned gangster from inside the jail to withdraw the 2013 case or face dire consequences, in which case they appeared as the witness in the court today. He recorded the conversation and handed over to police for seeking protection. The police is however further investigating into the matter.
