Fazilka (Jalalabad), September 30, 2015: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today reiterated the resolve of State Government to ameliorate the conditions in rural areas and take every step to ensure provisioning of all basic amenities.
Addressing mediapersons at Village Chakk Pakhi during Sangat Darshan program Deputy Chief Minister said every village in the Jalalabad constituency would be given a facelift which would act as a catalyst for the all over development of rural areas throughout the state. He announced that sports stadium of Jalalabad would be turned into a centre of excellence for sports and kabaddi world cup-2015 final would be held in Jalalabad which would put the city on world sports map.
Mr. Badal also announced that Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal would launch a medical health scheme for the poor people at Rupnagar on 2nd October under which all blue card holders would be entitled to get treatment in any hospital in the state upto the extent of Rs. 30000.
He also elaborated that the state government would award compensation to the tune of Rs. 600 Crore to the farmers whose crop has been affected by the white fly attack.
Announcing other developmental steps initiated by the state government, Deputy CM informed that a sum of Rs. 4000 crore would be spent on providing sewerage and water supply in the urban areas besides Rs 6000 crore to be spent on the rural development. He declared that government would soon advertise 75000 jobs for the unemployed youth.
Mr. Badal also distributed 117 bicycles to the school girls in village Bahmaniwala under Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, adding he said as many as 7085 bicycles would be distributed to the girl students in Fazilka District.
Earlier, Deputy CM conducted Sangat Darshan in 14 villages of the jalalabad constituency and disbursed grants worth Rs. 24 crore. The villages namely—Kahnewala, Chak Sohna Sandar, Bahmaniwala, Chak Dumal, Simriwala, Chak Kherewala (Jaimalwala), Chakk Pakkhi, Nukerian, Sahiwala, Chak Sarriyan, Sarriyan, Chakk Paliwala, Dhani Resham Singh and Meenewala recived the granted for various developments like provisioning of proper water supply, construction of concrete streets and drainage system in the villages.
On this occasion, MLA Gurtej Singh Ghuriana, Manvesh Singh Sidhu Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM, Satinderjit Singh Manta OSD to Deputy CM, Gurpal Singh Grewal District President SAD, Bhai Jagsir Singh Billu Senior Akali Leader, Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Singh, SSP Swapan Sharma were also present.
