Social Bodies under banner of Sanjha Morcha flay Govt move of black PDPP Act

Ferozepur, January 29, 2016: Today various social bodies under the banner of Sanjha Morcha, protested in front of the District Administrative Complex and jammed the traffic on the GT Road, against the government move of black Prevention of Damage to public and Private Property Act 2014, demanding roll back of the same.

 

In the protest, the various organizations – NRMU, TSU. PSEB Employees Federation, Revenue Patwar Union, Coordination Committee, Para Medical, BSNL, Postal Employees, Punjab Kissan Sabha, Border Area Sangharsh Committee, Bharti Kissan Union Krantikari, BU Dadoda, BKU Ugrah, Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union and various government department employees unions participated in the protest.

 

Stating about the introduction of draconian law named as Prevention of Damage to the Public and Private Property Act 2014, Subhash Sharma and Dilwinder Singh  said, it is clear cut violation of section 19 of the Constitution by the State Government claiming to be the sentinel of democracy and standing against the emergency.  It is a move to put a complete ban on the dharnas organized by the employees to register their protest.

 

Due to the  anti-public policies of the government, it is incapable of solving the problems of the public and is trying to suppress the right to protest through such laws, they added.

 

They further said on the demand of corporate houses, the government was also planning to bring anti-labour laws. They would try to include more organisations in the Sanjha Morcha in fight against the black Act.

 

They claimed that in case their demands are not accepted, the agitation will be intensified in the coming days.

Present among others on this occasion were Harpreet Singh Thind, Harmeet Vidyarthi, Des Raj, Krishan Chand Jagowalia, Kuldip Singh Khunger Om Parkash,   Malkiat Singh, Kanwarjit Sharma, Ajit Singh Sodhi, Balkar Singh Bhullar, Ashwani Sharma, Sukhdev Singh and hundreds of workers.
