SBS Polytechnic Wing Ferozepur gets Outstanding Technical Institution Award
NITTTR constituted award for institutions delivering quality technical education in the Northern India
Ferozepur, September 10, 2015 : Renowned Polytechnic College of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus Ferozepur situated in the border belt achieved another milestone for being awarded with Outstanding Technical Institution Award under Best Polytechnic Colleges Category for the year 2014-2015. This Award is given by National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh (NITTTR) and is given to three Best Polytechnics of from northern region nine states comprising of J&K, HP, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, UP, Uttrakhand, and Rajasthan. This Award has added another feather to its cap.
The award comprising of a Certificate and a Shield was received by Campus Director, Dr T. S. Sidhu and Principal Poly Wing Prof. Gazal Preet Arneja. The Chief Guest during this Award Ceremony was Dr. Shailendra Narain, Member of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Member Business Advisory Council, Bangkok and Guest of Honour was Mrs Monika Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary Department of Technical Education, Uttar Pardesh. Dr. M. P. Poonia, Director of NITTTR, Chandigarh congratulated the faculty, staff and students of S. B. S. State Technical Campus for this great achievement.
As many as 21 Polytechnic Colleges from this northern region have applied for this prestigious award. Three Institutions were awarded on this occasion from Polytechnic College Category. The Award has been constituted by National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Chandigarh (NITTTR) with the objective of honouring institutions delivering quality technical education in the Northern India.
The Award recognizes the performance of the institution during last three years of the institutions which contribute significantly towards the overall quality of technical education in making their students more competent and employable.
All the faculty, staff and students were in joyous mood for getting this esteemed award. On this occasion, Camus Director, Dr. T. S. Sidhu congratulated Principal Polytechnic Wing, Prof Gazal Preet Singh and his entire team for this great achievement and hoped that Polytechnic Wing will keep on moving in direction of achieving excellence in Technical Education and achieve great heights.
Gazal Preet Singh Arneja, Principal Poly Wing, told that this Award is very Special and Distinct in the wake of in the wake of SBS Polytechnic College was youngest among all the colleges, being established only in the year of 2009.
On this occasion a get together was organized in which all Heads of Departments, Sh Rahul Sharma, HOD – Electrical Engg Deptt; Sh Gurjeevan Singh, HOD – ECE; Mrs Anuradha Rani, HOD – Computer Engg Deptt; Sh Gobind, HOD – Mechanical Engg Deptt; Sh Rajneesh Kumar, HOD – Applied Sciences Deptt; Admin Officer Mr Gaurav Kumar; Office Supdt Mr Arun Kumar; Lab Supdt Mr Manjit Singh; Mr Rajesh Singla, Mr Kamal Khanna, Mr Retaish Uppal, Mr Rahul Chopra, Mrs Richa Sawhney, Mr Manpreet Singh, Mr Ajay Singla (Lecturers), Assistant Mr Gursharan Singh, Mr Amrital Singh, Mr Lalit Kumar and Mr Avtar Singh were present.
Dr. Sidhu also shared that the staff, faculty and students are highly motivated by this prestigious award.
