Ferozepur, August 16, 2022: Sarhadi Lok Sewa Samiti – SLS – organizes ‘Ek Sham Desh Ke Nam’ dedicated to Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations of 75th India’s Independence at Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, on Sunday evening which was attended the prominent persons,  local NGOs along with family members.

The event was started with a Bhakti song by Dharampal Bansal, Chairman, SBS and Harmony, District President, SLS who has also launched  a YouTube channel – DP Life Bhakti Bhajan, followed by patriotic songs by the students of Nursing and Ayurveda colleges.  Earlier, they extended invitations to all by visiting personally and presented the National Flag to hoist on their homes. The Central government has started a 75-week countdown in March 2021 for celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence India. They named it ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ which will conclude next year on August 15, 2023. Amidst all the campaigns, the Indian government introduced the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to evoke patriotic and nationalist emotions amongst all the citizens.

Quoting the words of Bhisham Pitamah, Dharampal Bansal, Punjab President said said,  the borders of the country are like the clothes of the mother, whose protection of is the first duty of the son adding that SLS is exclusive working for the welfare of border villages, to inculcate the spirit of patriotism, educate them to become eco-friendly  cooperate with the first line of defence BSF to stop drug smuggling from across the border, which is ruining the youths of the country.

Om Parkash, Commandant BSF,Mamdot said, during my posting on the international border, I have felt during my interaction with the villagers and youths that there is a need to educate the youths of border villagers to inculcate the spirit of patriotism to stop brain-drain.  He said, getting freedom with the sacrifice of our freedom fighters, martyrs for the independence of a sovereign India, is one thing but to protect it too, is more important.

Dr.Satinder Singh, National Awardee, Dy. District Education Officer said, we should not forget that despite the fact that Bhagat Singh was holding a pistol in one hand but he was also holding a book in the other hand, meaning thereby that we can create an atmosphere among the youths by sharing with them the stories of heroes who have given us the freedom with their sacrifices.

Appreciating the initiative of LSS, R.S.Bhullar, Sub Divisional Magistrate said, every Indian should have a passion of patriotic feeling.  With the passage of time, things have changed,  pre-partition activities by the freedom fighters for the Independence of sovereign India was to get freedom but now the question is as to how to retain in the best possible manner to compete even with China. He said, fake currency availability, cheap products and downing the value of our economy and we have to work on these issues.  Youths are the rod in the national flag to keep flying the flag high and it could only be possible if we show the path of education and sports to keep them away from the drug culture or other anti-social activities.

Manoj Kumar, Border Public Service Committee Border Public Welfare Regional Organization Secretary appreciated the LSS members for becoming a part of Har Ghar Tiranga.

Kamal Kalia, District, President and Harjinder Singh, General Secretary, Tejinder Bansal(NRI),CA Priyanka Jain, thanked the audience for sparing their time for this event and their services were recognized for their social and religious activities and with best wishes to continue to work for the welfare of the society with true feeling and selfless emotions, by presenting them a ‘Sanman Patr’.
