SAD(B) Observer, Sekhon appeals PM for dialogue with farmers over three Farm Bills

Ferzepur, October 28, 2020:  The Prime Minister, Narendera Modi should call the farmers community for dialogue across the table over the Agri Farm Bills to put an end to the on-going agitation by the farmers in the State, said Janameja Singh Sekhon, former Cabinet Minister and now Shiromani Akali Dal Observer for Ferozepur and Fazilka constituencies at a meet with the workers at his residence at Ferozepur.

Addressing the media persons, Sekhon said, the stopping of rural funds Centre to Punjab is an attack on our demand of additional rights.  The centre has adopted the confrontation policy with the Punjab and stopped the movement of goods trains.

Added here, the farmers had been protesting in the State over the three farm bills by sitting on the railway tracks.  However, four days back, the farmer outfits have decided to clear the tracks for movement of goods trains but the railways after operating just for one day, withdraw the inward rakes to Punjab till October 29, saying that railways cannot operate under the restricted environment and dictated terms.  Farmers have threatened to intensify the agitation in the coming time.

He said, it would have been better if the farmers outfits could have been invited for dialogue across the table under the tutelage of Prime Minister.  But the results of this confrontation policy will be dangerous.

He pointed out that there is no promise and security to the farmers in the amendments proposed by the Punjab government by accepting the Bills, said Janmeja Singh Sekhon adding that there is no question of having any alliance with BJP in future in the State. Earlier also these Bills were also tabled during the tenure of Manmohan Singh and had opposed at that time and why not now?

Sekhon made an appeal to the PM through the media, everyone has right to protestto call the farmers for dialogue to convince them over the table on three farm bills, if they same are farmer-friendly.
