SAD on damage control mode after acceptance of resignations of ‘taksali leaders’ – Old Guards

Ferozepur, November 11, 2018: With the acceptance of resignations of Sewa Singh Sekhwan followed another four ‘taksali leaders’ – old guards, the Shiromani Akali Dal – SAD – had gone on damage control mode.

“Acceptance of resignations by the Core Committee of the Shirmani Akali Dal is not a surprise to us as we knew this action when more than a month back we had submitted the resignations. But we have moved for a good cause and will be blessed by the Almighty. The truth will prevail over the lie”, said Ranjit Singh Brahmpura during his visit to Ferozepur on Sunday late evening.

After Sewa Singh Sekhwan former Minister, the Core Committee of the Shiromani Akali Dal have decided “with a heavy heart” to expel for six years  Mr. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura Khadoor Sahib MP, his son Mr. Ravinder Pal  Singh Brahmpura, former MLA ,  Dr. Rattan  Sigh Ajnala, former MP and his son Mr Amarpal Singh Boni  former MLA from the primary membership of the party for “indulging in anti-party activities.”

There are four main reasons for taking the action of showing the out-door to taksali leaders who have raised a banner of revolt against the party leadership for alleged deviatin from its ‘panthic agenda’ – first, pardon granted to Dera Sachha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh, second, not taking early action on the sacrilege cases and firing incident in 2015, third, there is no say of ‘taksali leaders’ in Akali Dal rather ‘jija-sala are managing the whole affairs and fourth, the defeat in the elections because of Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia.  According to the old guards, the party president was taking all decisions unilaterally which alienated a section of the party leaders and led to cracks in its core Panthic constituency.

Criticizing the statement of Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister that ‘taksali leaders’ – Old Guards – are already been rejected.  Sukhbir Badal or Majithia may talk on the issue but I will ask her as to what is her contribution for the SAD like going to jail or played any role, he said.

We are still a part of SAD but those who have brought the bad name to SAD, should resign.  Expulsion is not a surprise to us. We will, however, plan our strategy after a joint meeting, he added.
