Putting smiles on Orphan’s Faces: In a unique way, DC Ferozepur spends weekend with Orphanage’s children

Ferozepur, July 21, 2019: The Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Chander Gaind, who is also popular as Public DC, observed a unique weekend on Saturday evening by becoming a host to hundred orphanage children, over a family get-together, to put smiles on Orphan’s faces.

  • Children enjoyed the delicacies of Ferozepur, played football with deputy commissioner and witness the live singing performance.

This was for the first time that DC had invited orphanage's children at his residence. Buses were assigned to pick and drop the kids from the orphanage home.  The children from the age group between 8 to18 visited DC residence as chief guests and spent two and a half hour with the deputy commissioner.

While having an interaction with the kids, DC also motivated them to do something special in studies and to be successful persons in their lives.

After reaching the Deputy Commissioner residence, the children enjoyed the famous delicacies of Ferozepur. The inmates were served with kachoris and jalebis of famous Ramu Sweet shop in Cantonment.

Further, Gaind, Deputy Commissioner, took stock of the details about their study and facilities being provided to them at the orphanage home. He nudged the children to work hard besides giving them important tips to clear civil services exams. Thereafter, the deputy commissioner gave the children his personal mobile number and asked them to call him 24×7 for any kind of help without hesitation.

The series of activities were arranged for the children following which the children played football with the deputy commissioner.  The singers from the DCM Group of Schools entertained children with live singing performance. Even the deputy commissioner joined that child in celebration and sang a song for children and danced with them on their favourite music.

The joy could be seen in the eyes of Anathalaya inmates. Likewise, the entire family members of Deputy Commissioner were seen mixed up with the inmates and dancing with them. Return gift packs were given to the children. 

"The children living in the orphanage home are quite talented and can achieve peeks in their career and life if special attention is given to them, " he commented.

  • "The orphans at an early age need extra care for them to feel comfortable in society. It is important to socialize and mix with them to nurse their minds, emotions as well as enabling them to have hopeful mindsets”, the Public DC added.  Sharing the popular quote of Motehr Tersa – A life not lived for others is not a life – he said that maintaining a special bond of affinity with them so that they can keep motivating in their lives. 

    DC also appreciated Satnam Kaur, head of the orphanage home for looking to after the children sincerely.
