Punjab Police organizes ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ programme in Police Line
Ferozepur October 13, 2017: Under the week-long celebrations of Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao programme in the state, the Punjab Police also organized a programme in Police Line Ferozepur to create awareness among the people about the imbalance in the gender ratio which is widening day by day and to give a message to respect the girls at par with the sons besides stopping the social menace of female feticides.
SSP Ferozepur, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu giving a message of saving the girl child and plants, planted trees in the police line campus On along with the daughters of police employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, SSP Ferozepur said, “We can achieve any goal by keeping a positive approach”.
During the programme, two skits were performed by Lok Chetna Manch Zira directed by Shamsher Singh Samma and by the students of Guru Nanak College, Ferozepur besides poems based on the theme of ‘Mother and Daughter’ were presented by the students of the school in the campus.
Social activists – S.P.Khera, Parveen Goyal and Harish Monga were also honoured for extending their services to the society especially in the Women Cell for counseling in the marital dispute cases since 2000 with dedication and devotion.
Present among others on this occasion were Kashmir Kaur, SP(Crime), Ajmer Singh Bath, SP(I), Harinder Singh Dod, DSP City, Sadhu Singh DSP, Harjit Singh HC, and Balwinder Pal Sharma, ASI.
