PSI organizes Cycling Promotion Seminar at SBS State Technical Campus in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, March 10, 2017: To spread message for ‘Clean India-Green India’ and motivate people to adopt cycling, Pedallers Society of India (PSI) organized a cycling promotion seminar “motivating people for cycling” at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical campus, Ferozepur on Friday.

Presiding over the seminar, V.K.Meena, divisional commissioner Ferozepur and Faridkot along with Sukhchain Singh Gill, deputy inspector general of police, Ferozepur range, expressed his views on the role of use of cycling in day routine life for better health and environment.

“Invoking the spirit of nationalism through cycling is an innovative and multi-beneficial endeavour initiated on the part of Pedallers Society of India (PSI),” quoted Meena.

“It’s a commendable effort on the part of PSI to come forward and motivate people for better and health and environment,” remarked Gill.

“Cycling is not only a panacea for better health and environment but may also help manifold to tackle the daily menace of traffic chaos on roads,” said Gaurav Garg, SSP Ferozepur.

“It’s high time to take a call and come forward and work in letter and spirit for “clean and green India”, quoted Om Pal Singh, Chief executive officer, Cantonment Board, Ferozepur and patron PSI.

In the meantime, more than 140 cyclists from local Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical campus, Baba Bidhi Polytechnic college, Shaheed Bhagat Singh stadium, Manav Mandir Senior Secondary School and Cantonment Board, Ferozepur were felicitated with certificates for participating into the three days ‘National Integration Cycling Expedition’ (NICE) from Khatkarkalan-Ludhiana-Hussainiwala memorial. NICE highlighted message to the public to bring on their efforts in making India cleaner and greener

“PSI has got planted ‘Trivani’ at National Memorial for martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala by collecting sand from respective places of martyrs including Khatkar Kalan and Ludhiana while cycling and fetching from Rajgurunagar in Pune,” divulged Ketan Baliram Patil, a 2010 batch IPS officer and Patron-in-chief of the PSI.

 “The war today is not against the people, but against Pollution, the maleficent evil for all,” said Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar and Mehar Singh Mal, President and Secretary PSI respectively.

Meanwhile event was attended by T.S.Sidhu, Director SBS engineering college, Karanbir Singh, Amarjeet Singh Bhogal, Sunir Monga, Manoj Soi, Pardeep Dhingra, Manjeet Singh, Sapan Vats, Amit Dhawan and Ramanjeet Singh besides members of various NGOs including Paddlers Club, Ferozepur.
