Police conducts CASO Operation Vigil-2 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 2, 2023: During the Cordon and Search Operation – CASO ‘Operation Vigil-2’ conducted by the Punjab Police at the railway stations, hotels, dharamshalas, sarais etc and other suspected places, including the checking of two and four wheelers, from 7 am to 3 pm in district Ferozepur today, we have strictly instructed all the police personnel to deal with every person in a friendly and polite manner while frisking them during the course of this operation.
Divulging details regarding the outcome of the operation, SSP said, the operation was supervised by Randhir Kumar, SP(D) under the tutelage of SSP Bhupinder Singh who said, 8 FIRs – 2 under Excise Act with recovery of 100 ltr lahan and 9 bottles of illicit liquor, 4 under NDPS Act with recovery of 117 gm heroin and one under Section 379 IPC with recovery of one LED and one under Gambling Act with recovery of Rs.2400, have been registered and of 7 accused have been arrested. Further investigations are with special focus on backward and forward history of the accused.
However, such operations would continue till the menace of drugs and gangsters are wiped out from the district and state as well, he said.
