PM Modi to lay virtual foundation stone of PGI Satellite in Ferozepur on Feb. 25

Ferozepur, February 19, 2024:
The virtual foundation stone of PGI Satellite Center in Ferozepur will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25 from Rajkot, Gujarat, said BJP National Executive Member, Rana Sodhi.

Added here, this project is pending for the last ten years which was approved by the then government.  In fact, the Prime Minister Modi  was coming to Ferozepur on January 5, 2022 especially to lay the foundation stone of PGI and to give projects worth crores in Punjab, but his convoy was blocked by the protesters and he has to wait for 20 minutes on flyover 5 km ahead of Ferozepu for which certain officers are facing inquiry for breach of security.
Rana Sodhi said, Had the foundation stone laid at that time, the PGI would have been ready by now and the OPD would have started.
Sodhi said that he was in constant touch with the PGI team and the Union Cabinet along with Health Ministry officials with special stress on the point that the people of the border districts were in special need of PGI. He has also been continuously meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for PGI.  Now he will also demand from the Prime Minister and Health Minister to build a medical college here.
Rana Sodhi said that the construction work of PGI will be completed before March 2026 and people will get relief from getting treatment in expensive hospitals and thousands of people in the area will get employment opportunities and people in the surrounding districts will also benefit from it.  He said that some people are doing politics in the name of PGI, who are trying to mislead people.  He said that it would be a true tribute to former Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma who had made an important contribution in the construction of PGI and getting the land approved.
