Northern Railway Ferozepur Division Observes "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day"

Ferozepur, August 14, 2024: Northern Railway Ferozepur Division observed ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ and organized exhibitions at 23 railway stations in the division.

On August 14, 1947, India was partitioned into two nations—India and Pakistan—resulting in the displacement of countless families and the loss of many lives. The communal and religious hatred led to the tragic massacre of thousands of men, women, and children.

To commemorate this event, on August 14, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that August 14 would be observed annually as “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” to honour the sufferings and sacrifices of Indians during the 1947 partition.
