Ferozepur, November 12, 2015: THE Festival of ‘Diwali’ was dedicated to celebrate as ‘Elders Day’ by Mohan Lal Bhaskar (MLB) Foundation at Ferozepur yesterday.

The event,  a part of 11th Mohan Lal Bhaskar Memorial Art and Theatre Festival, was themed with a slogan of “Celebrate Diwali Not with crackers but with elders”.

More than a dozen Elders ageing from 67 years to 110 years old including heads of Joint Families having even forty five members in a family, were ‘Especially Honoured’ by MLB Foundation.

Foundation also adopted eleven families of downtrodden section of the society and started monthly house-hold material distribution to them besides arranging their free medical assistance from local Amar Hospital through Dr.Parveen Dhingra, revealed Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar, General Secretary of the MLB Foundation.

Meanwhile the concept of ‘Sanjha Vehra’, opposite local Joshi Palace received particular round of applause during the event for promoting brotherhood and better harmony among neighbourers.

“More than a dozen families of ‘Sanjha Vehra’ in Ferozepur are living better coordinated life and helping one other besides sharing joys and sorrows on day to day basis,” revealed Amarjit Singh Bhogal, a representative of ‘Sanjha Vehra’.

Presiding over the event, Vijay Chopra, Editor-in-chief Hind Samachar Group expressed concern over the ignorance of elders in the present time by young generations.

He applauded the initiative of MLB Foundation to ‘recoginse’ and honour the elders of the society.

In the meantime eleven meritorious students were honoured besides annual scholarships to five studious but economical backward students by MLB Foundation.

Abhishek Arora, Amrik Singh, Santokh Singh, Harmeet Vidharthy, Harsh Arora, Jhalkeshwar Bhaskar, Shalinder Bhalla, Amit Dhawan, Sapan Vats and Naresh Sharma were also present at the occasion.
