MLA Bhullar presides over as Chief Guest on World Theatre Day celebrations in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, March 29, 2023: Punjab Language Department celebrated ‘World Theatre Day’ on Tuesday in Ferozepur and local MLA Ferozepur Urban, Ranbir Singh Bhullar was the Chief Guest of the event.

On this occasion, Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA congratulating the audience on ‘World Theatre Day’ said that the Punjab government is committed to the efforts made towards art and mother language and the Punjab government wants to send a message of peace and tranquillity by conducting such song rituals .

A seminar was held on the topic of ‘Present and Future of Punjabi Nat Manch’, in which the personality of Punjabi theatre world, Dr. Satish Kumar Verma participated and expressed his views on this topic to the audience and said that today Punjabi theatre is of world class and most of the Punjabi and Malayalam theatre in India is doing great work qualitatively and quantitatively. He appreciated the initiative of the language department.

Welcoming the guest and audience, District Language Officer Dr. Jagdeep Singh said that World Theatre Day has been celebrated on March 27 every year since 1962. Its main objective is to strengthen mutual love, peace and community relations as theatre is associated with the visual arts and has a greater impact on the mind. On this occasion, international artists Ranjit Bitta and Salim Akhtar presented the traditional folk-not genre ‘Bhand’, satirically attacking social injustices.

The street play ‘Vahan Daryawan De’ presented by Kranti Kala Manch Moga under the direction of Baljit Atwal, settled in the hearts of the audience due to its acting and theme. District Language Officer Moga Dr. Ajitpal Singh said that presentations of this play were conducted at three places by the language department. He said that such qualitative efforts are being made continuously by the language department and he said that Dr. Special thanks to Satish Kumar Verma for sharing extremely valuable ideas.

While conducting the forum, the patron of the language forum, Prof. Kuldeep Singh conducted this program in a planned manner.
