LIONS CLUB HONOURS SENIOR MEMBERS

Ferozepur, November 2, 2015: Lions Club Ferozepur – a part of Lions International Associations of Clubs – the largest social organizations of the world – honoured its senior members who have attained 65 years age in its General Body Meeting held on Sunday, under the tutelage of Col. Y.P.Rampal SM, President.

Lion Kuldeep Gakhar, Vice President-I and Lion Sat Pal Monga, Past President (2014-2015) presided over the meeting.

Lions Clubs International is a secular, non-political service organization founded by Melvin Jones in 1917.  As of April, 2015, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries around the world.  In other words, sun never sets in the service to the humanity in the history of Lions Clubs.

Speaking on the occasion, Lion Rakesh Pathak, Secretary said, the BOD in its last meeting decided to honour Senior Citizen members of the Club as per the guidelines of District Governor, in recognition of their contribution for the society.

He further shared that senior citizens are the most important part of our society. They can play very important role in the society. They should not be written off but used as an asset for the upliftment of society. People above 60 years age gain much knowledge and are rich in experience.

Sharing his experience about the secret of good health, Lion Dr.H.S.Bhalla said, one should eat less and does a regular morning walk or exercise.

Those honoured on this occasion were – Lion Parvesh Kumar, Lion Surinder Aggarwal, Lion Sat Pal Monga, Lion Sham Lal Gupta, Lion S.P.Khera, Lion Dr.Brij Bhushan Sharma, Lion Kuldeep Gakhar, Lion Dr.H.S.Bhalla, Lion Chaman Lal Kakkar and others.
