Laparoscopic Nephrectomy Surgery performed first time in Divl Railway Hospital, Ferozepur

Ferozepur, June 4, 2016: A laparoscopic nephrectomy surgery was performed for the first time in Northern Railway’s Divisional Hospital Ferozepur.

In laparoscopic surgery through small incision camera and other instruments are used and surgery is performed in minimal invasive way.

According to Dr.Kamal Kumar, Surgeon, Shinder Kaur, 42, patient whose husband is working in Sanitation Deptt. In railway, was admitted in Divisional Hospital Ferozepur with history of recurrent urinary tract infection and uncontrolled diabetic status and his right kidney ws infested and subsequently diseased with no functional status.  Patient diabetic status and infection was controlled with insulinand anti-biotics before surgery.  After surgery, patient  recovery was uneventful and patient was discharged within 4-5 days.

Laparoscopic surgery is a highly advanced technique in this modern era of surgical discipline.  These kind of surgeries are routinely performed at Divisional hospital Ferozepur since many years.
