Khakhi in Action Mode: Ferozepur police conduct CASO-Cordon and Search Operation

Ferozepur, July 9, 2022:    Today, the Ferozepur Police, while continuing its fight for eradication of drugs from Punjab, too has launched a special search operation at the hideouts of drug addicts.

The Punjab Police operation is under way across the state and in Ferozepur as well, in the adjoining colonies, colonies, slum areas to nab the suspected drug pushers and recovery there.

The campaign is against drugs to make Punjab a drug-free state and establish peace and law and order by eliminating gangster culture in the state. Through this special campaign, the police will try to curb the rising crime graph in Punjab.

After the order of the new DGP of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, for the first time, a special search operation is being conducted in the state to nab the criminals on such a large scale. To make this special operation a success, a senior IPS officer of the police of every district has been appointed as a supervisory officer. Police say that this special operation has been started to nab the anti-social elements spread in Punjab. Under which action will be taken against those involved in illegal trade of drugs and arms.

SSP Charanjit Singh Sohal, who personally supervised the operation said, in the CASO campaign, 6 GOs – 2 SPs, 4 DSPs, 3 Insp,, 2 SHOs, I/C CIA andI/C Narcotics and 240 police oficials has been deployed today.  In all, three localities – Village Sher Khan, Bhattian Wali Basti and Awa Basti, has been covered in this operataion.

SSP said, in this operation, besides recovery of 1,000 Alprax tablets, 40 gm heroin, 50 bottle illicit liquor, 3 stolen motorcycles, 1 criminal wanted in NDSPS Act, has been arrested and one Swift car has been rounded up.   Earlier, also huge recoveries have been made in the district and such special operations will be a continued process to curb the crime graph.
