I HAVE FULFILLED EVERY PROMISE AMPHIBIOUS BUS BECOMES REALITY
Ferozepur, December 12: The wait for the much awaited amphibious bus was over today for the residents of this region as the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today inaugurated the amphibious bus at Harike Pattan lake and even travelled along with media in the bus to take round of the confluence of Satluj-Beas rivers.
Interacting with the media-persons on the occasion, the Deputy CM said whatever he promised during his tenure, he accomplished and now the likes of congress and AAP have been left with no face to show it to the people. Taking a jibe at AAP and Congress leaders, he invited them to come and experience the beauties of nature by travelling in the amphibious bus. He also said that the project would give a big fillip to the tourism sector of Amritsar.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said his target is to beautify the internal spots of the Amritsar holy city during next 5 years. He also said in the next phase amphibious buses would be launched in Bathinda on the pattern of Harike Pattan. He further said during past 10 years, SAD-BJP government has totally transformed Punjab and written new success sagas of prosperity in every sector with each passing day.
It is pertinent to mention here that the amphibious bus project has come to fruition at a cost of Rs. 10 crore and the beauty of the Harike Pattan chhamb area can be enjoyed from close quarters besides having a close view of the migratory birds. The booking for the ride on this amphibious bus can be made from the Tourism Department office at Harike Pattan or Amritsar. The booking can also be made online at various places in Amritsar
Vijay Pal Singh Mann, XEN, Harike Division said that for this amphibious bus, a special 240 ft long solid concrete ramp has been prepared. He said that since the migratory birds have started visiting Harike, it would be an icing on the cake for the tourists to travel in this amphibious bus.
Aman Gupta and Meenakshi Gupta, two residents from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh reached Harike Wetland today to witness the first amphibious bus of this region functioning. While talking to the media persons, Aman said that he was excited to know that such bus (amphibious) will be inaugurated by the Deputy CM of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal. “at around 6.00 pmyesterday, we picked Golden Temple Express, reached Amritsar in the morning and at around 11 am today, we were here”, said elated Aman Kumar and his wife Meenakshi.
Among others present on the occasion included MLA Hari Singh Zira and Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Bibi Preneet Kaur, Chairman Avtar Singh Zira, Chairman Surjit Singh Ablowal, Secretary Tourism Hussan Lal, Media Adviser to the Deputy Chief Minister-Jangveer Singh, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister-Rahul Tewari and Director Tourism Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa.
