Hidden silver coins dating back 1905 with British Crown spotted while digging of sewage at Talwandi Bhai

Pot contains 3 Kg coins

Ferozepur, March, 11: A pot containing more than 3 kg silver coins of 1905 have been found while digging of sewage at Talwandi Bhai, in the district.

Hiding the coins in secrecy had been the practice in the past and the treasure of silver coins were spotted while digging of sewage, could have been placed by the old timers.

As per the information available, construction work of the sewage was under process at Haraja Road near Railway station at Talwandi Bhai. During the digging one pot full of silver coins was found.

The news spread like a wild fire in the region and people rushed there to collect the coins. As soon as the matter was reported to the police, the police officials rushed to the spot to prevent the panic.

Davinder Singh, SHO, Ghall Khurd Police station said that the police will investigate the matter thoroughly.

However, as per the information available, the pot was containing more than three Kg silver coins of 1905.
