Health Department organizes Cycle Rally to create awareness on Cancer

Ferozepur, February 26, 2021:  A Cycle Rally was organized by Health Department under the National Program for Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke, with participataion of Hussainiwala Riders Group and officials of health department.

 

The objective of the rally was to draw attention of the public to cancer and how it was important to detect it early. It is the second leading cause of death globally causing about 1 in 6 deaths. The other objective of the rally was to create awareness on the treatment of cancer and promote a better understanding of the disease so as to help people make an informed decision.

 

The rally was flagged off by Dr. Rajinder Raj, Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur from Civil Hospital Ferozepur and ended at the same place after passing in the different areas of the city.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajinder Raj said cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke are lifestyle diseases and by adopting a healthy lifestyle, we can avoid all these lifestyle diseases, by adopting the excellent tools for  physical activities like cycling, walking, sports and yoga.

 

On this occasion Sohan Singh Sodhi of Hussainiwala Riders and his group members, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjeev Gupta , District Family Welfare Officer Dr: Sushma Thakkar, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Meenakshi Abaroa, Epidemiologist Dr. Yuvraj Singh Narang, Dr: Sonia Chaudhary, Mass Media Officer Rajiv Sharma, Vikas Kalra and health department officials were present.

 

Satpatal Singh , Sahil Kataria and Chamkaur Singh and Karan played a special to make the programme a grand success.
