Four mobiles recovered from under trials in Ferozepur
Ferozepur December 23, 2019: With the recovery of four mobiles and habit-forming drugs from the prisoners under trials, during the search operation at Central Jail, the security arrangements once again in the jail premises have once again come under scanner.
This is the not the first time, every time during the search operation, mobiles and drugs are recovered from the prisoners or barracks. Earlier, during the last four months 40 mobiles have been seized beside recovery of hundreds of habit forming tablets.
On the complaint Assistant Superintendent Jail, Manjit Singh, a case under Section 22/61/85 of NDPS Act and 52-A Prisons Act 1894 has been registered against six inmates – Gurdip Singh of village Khilche, Amarjit Singh of Madarpur, Lakhwinder Singh of Balluana, Ladi of Utla Vehda, Jugraj Singh of Gultiwal in Jalandhar, Sanjan of Islamabad of Amritsar.
During the search operation late night on Saturday, the recoveries made are one mobile of Samsung brand with batter and SIM card from Sajan, one touch screen mobile of Samsung with Idea SIM alongwith charger from Jugraj Singh and Gurdeep Singh, one mobile with battery and SIM from Amarjeet Singh and habit forming drugs six tablets from Lakhwinder Singh and one tablet from Ladi.
With the recovery of mobiles, it is clear that the jail inmates are in contact with their accomplices with one or the other reason. According to IO Ajmer Singh, the investigations are on with special focus on to ascertain the entry of mobile inside the jail and further the purpose of its use.
