Ferozepur reports 8 deaths, 242 COVID-19 +ve

Ferozepur, May 18, 2021:  Eight deaths and 242 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Ferozepur on Tuesday, taking the total tally of positive cases in Ferozepur, as on date to 10,820 positive cases and 322 deaths including 103 during the month of May, since the outbreak of virus in the district.

The Civil Surgeon has made an appeal to the residents to strictly follow the Covid protocol behavior and stay home and come out only in emergent need.  Only with the cooperation of all, we can win over the Coronavirus.

As per record 1,50,163 samples were taken, out of which 1,38,141 were reported negative, 10,820  positive, 8,698 recovered and still 1,810 cases were active while the result of 200 samples are still awaited.

The eight deaths on Tuesday include, 4 male and 4 female of the age group of 55 to 86 years – in Ferozepur urban, Mamdot, Kassoana and Ferozshah Blocks, said Dr Yuvraj, District Epidemiologist, Ferozepur

In the vaccination drive, 4,156 of 18-44 years, and first and second dose to 45 age to 91,952 persons in the district have been vaccinated.
