Ambala traders to keep market closed for 3 hours on July 3 with appeal to open Shambhu border
HARISH MONGA
Ferozepur, June 25, 2024: The farmers camping at the Shambhu border protesting for the guarantee of MSP on all crops and waiving of debts besides other demands, which has entered 133rd day, are in high spirits despite 47 degrees temperature and prepared to fight for a long battle for their rights and demands. Ayodhya has taught a hard lesson to the Modi government and it must make farmer-friendly decisions.
The farmers are sitting in a caravan of trolleys and tents stretching along 4 km of highway and maintaining the langar, washing dishes and keeping the morcha area neat and clean. Even the stage near the barricaded border had been made ‘pacca’.
The farmers had also condemned the attack by certain Ambala traders claimed by the farmers to be BJP workers who later on stated that they had come for a dialogue to take up the matter for the opening of the National Highway blocked by the centre government due to obstruction in the movement of transport vehicles is affecting their business.
On the other hand, Ambala traders will keep the market closed for 3 hours – from 9 am to 12 pm – on July 3 and later Amit Shah will give a demand letter to the Deputy Commissioner, appealing to open the Shambhu border which has been closed for the last 4 months, which has greatly affected their business.
Satnam Singh Pannu, farmer leader in his video message today said that Ayodhya has already taught the BJP a hard lesson and still it is the right time to accept the demands of the farmers. We are fighting this battle on our heads, the shroud for the farmers of the country and not just for the Punjab or Haryana farmers.
He said, this morcha will make historical decisions, it is your life, it will make our fine mornings in your houses, it will save our lands, it will raise our heads, it will save our harmony. We are sitting here with 5 years of planning but will not go back to our homes by winning the battle as there is no in-between way except making the MSP law and not merely announcements as we don’t trust them.
