DRM inaugurates T-20 Railway Cricket Tournament after 24 years

Ferozepur, November 7, 2020:  On Saturday, T-20 Railway Cricket Tournament was inaugurated by Divisional Rail Manager, Rajesh Aggarwal along with Sudhir Kumar, Sr. DoM and Sports Officer at the Railway Ground after 24 years.  Earlier, the Cricket Tournament was held in 1996.

After having an introduction with the cricket team members, DRM said, the games including the Cricket, also keep mentally and physically fit.  Giving a word of advice, he said, the youths should keep themselves away from drugs, maintain cleanliness in surroundings and follow the medical protocols to be safe from Corona pandemic.

 

DRM said, with one or the other reason, the sports activities could not be held and now the railway ground has been properly maintained.  It will now be a regular future adding to promote the sports activities, the railway provides its ground to local sports lovers by charging a very nominal fee and for the purpose, Sudhir Kumar Sports Officer can be contacted for any details. He also appreciated the efforts of Sudhir Kumar for having a cricket tournament started at Railway stadium Ferozepur after a gap of 24 years.

The T-20 match was held between Railway XI and Meena XI.  Railway XI with batting in hand, scored 141 runs while the other team scored 110 runs on all out.   Harbhan was honoured by the Sports Officer on being  declared as Man of the Match for best bowling and taking 4 wickets on 21 runs only.
