Don’t try to sabotage Kartarpur Corridor – SAD President to CM

Ferozepur, November 06: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President S. Sukbir Singh Badal today advised Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to stop issuing provocative statements solely aimed at sabotaging the Kartarpur Corridor till November 12, saying the dream of crores of Sikhs to have ‘khulle darshan deedar’ of Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Karturpar Sahib of Pakistan had been realized only with the grace of Guru Sahib.

Interacting with the people at Ferozepur cantonment after holding a meeting with SAD workers, the SAD president said Captain Amarinder Singh should stop making statements aimed at creating hurdles in the smooth functioning of the Kartarpur Corridor. “The Almighty has fulfilled the prayer of the Sikh community by making this corridor a reality. Why are you (Amrinder) trying to scare the people with repeated statements about the ISI ? Why are you trying to sabotage the corridor on this historic religious event?” he lambasted the chief minister adding “our security forces are well equipped to tackle any threat from the ISI or the interests of our county”.

Answering a query about starting a new train between Ferozepur and Hardwar, the SAD president said he had sent this proposal along with other projects needed for Ferozepur constituency including railway under bridges to the central government. “You will see a historic change in this constituency after two years as the Congress government has stopped various development  projects in more than 100 towns due to its anti-development agenda. He said the chief minister had zero interest in taking the State and its people forward as it did not suit his anti-people mindset.

Earlier, the SAD president visited MLM senior secondary school, Ferozepur Cantt to attend the centenary function. Former chief minister S. Parkash Singh Badal is an alumnus of the school. He was hosteller during 1937-41 and studied the classes 7th standard to 10th standard here. He also granted lakhs of rupees to the school for the extension. Today SAD president also announced Rs.11 lakh grant for the school.
