Delhi Assembly Elections: Will Aam Aaadmi Party  becomes KHAS?

 If Arvind Kejriwal becomes the CM of Delhi, it will be big jolt to BJP during the last 8 months, which came into power after Modi wave on May 26, 2015

With 67 per cent voting turn out  and trading charges against each other by AAP and BJP on the day of Delhi Assembly elections with approach to the Elcetion Commission to complain of code of violation, now the question comes to one’s mind is only – Will AAP becomes KHAS?

KHAS in the sense of majority and occupying the Chief Minister’s seat by Arvind Kejriwal, who had earlier resigned just after 49 days  with minority government.  Narendera Modi in his extensive campaign, had also described Kejriwal as a back-stabber, who fled office when things got tough.

Kejriwal had come again in the field with promise of lower utility bills and free WiFi for Delhi’s 1.7 crore residents, as well as pledges to counter corruption.

There is no denying the fact, the leaders and workers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with the same zest and zeal had campaigned in Delhi Assembly elections.

Though Congress party has also campaigned but it looks that it was at the back end of AAP and the ultimate goal was to defeat the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to  Exit Polls after the voting had ended as :

India TV –C voter – AAP 35,BJP 31, Congress 2, Others 2;

India Today – AAP 48, BJP 22, Congress 0 Others 0;

ABP Nielson – AAP 39, BJP, Congress 3, Others 0;

Chankya – AAP 48, BJP 22, Congress 0, Others 0;

India News – AAP 53, BJP 17, Congress 0, Others 0

The AAP is likely to win 42 in the 70-seat assembly according to an average of opinion polls.  The BJP is expected to win 26 seats; it won 31 in the last election Delhi a year ago.

The BJP is claiming that the outcome of Delhi elections would be a referendum on the performance of BJP government led by Narendera Modi during the last eight months as it has make all out efforts during its campaign especially with the induction of Kiran Bedi, who was once associated with the Anna Hazare movement alongwith Arivind Kejriwal.

Not only this, Amit Shah, BJP National President has uttered that he has seen a party like AAP so far.  Its leaders never do what they say.  While Shatrugan Sinha, actor-turned-politician said that Kejriwal has

On the other hand, Kejriwal is confident to have majority by his AAP party in the elections and form the government in Delhi whereas Kiran Bedi the strong candidate projected as CM Delhi had rejected the exit poll results but said she would take full responsibility if her party suffers a loss.

The exit polls predict a complete sweep by AAP.  The final results are likely to have impact on the political landscape as number of parties who were opposing BJP, had extended support to the AAP in the elections.

The final outcome of the trend of voters will be known only on February 10 but if we go by the exit polls by various newspapers, news channels, online portals, Arvind Kejriwal is likely Chief Minister of Delhi and it will be first major setback  to BJP during the last 8 months, which came into power after Modi wave on May 26, 2015 and showed a resurgent AAP on tract to win a majority in Delhi.

Congress hardly stands anywhere in view of its poor performance in the past and internal rift.

Frankly speaking, exit polls in the past had proved deeply inaccurate but the change is the spice in politics and people too want drastic changes in our working system, fed up from the exiting corrupt system.  In case Kejriwal – known as muffler man comes in power, he will definitely become KHAS (Important) in the 2017 elections too and it will be a  tough task for the political parties.

Over to Tuesday, when the results will be declared!
