Couple held for duping nine persons in job scam
Fazilka: The police have arrested Parmjit Singh and his wife Nirmala Devi, both residents of border village Gulaba Bhaini, for allegedly duping nine persons of Rs 49 lakh on the pretext of getting them government jobs.
Giving information to the media persons, Dr.Ketan Bali Ram Patil said, the arrested couple had taken Rs.50 lacs – Rs.5 lac from Sham Lal of Behak Khas, Rs.3 lac from Harbans Lal, Rs.7.80 lac from Rakesh Kumar, Rs.5.50 lac from Rajan Kumar, Rs.1.70 lac from Shinderpal, Rs.12 lack from Baldev Raj and Navneet Raini, Rs.6.50 lac from Davinder Singh and Rs.6 lac from Sukhwinder Singh with a promise to get them jobs in the government departments – Forest, Revenue, State Bank, Food and Supplies, Health etc.
On the inquiry report conducted by SP Investigation, the couple has been booked for cheating, under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC and are on three days’ police remand.
