Conference aimed to exchange ideas and perspectives on the challenges in materials applications: Dr.Sidhu
Ferozepur, December 26, 2015 : One day national conference on “Frontiers in Materials Research & Applications’ was organized by ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur’. The theme of this event itself covered a wide range of critically important sessions that paved the way to exchange ideas and perspectives on the challenges in materials applications and research. Generous response and active participation received from the Researchers, Professors, Scientists, Students and the Industrial Delegates from all over the India.
75 participants from different parts of India participated in this conference and presented technical papers on the latest developments in the field of materials. Chief Guest of the conference, Dr Ramesh Chandra from Indian Institute of Technology delivered keynote address and presented the latest technologies on the material characterization. Dr T S Sidhu , Director of the institute welcoming the participants expressed that field of materials have not only helped the development in different fields in science and technology but also contributed towards the improvement of the quality of human life to a great extent. Prof. A.K.Tyagi, Associate Director and Prof Lalit Sharma, Conference Chair also highlighted the broader applications of materials, including ceramics, polymers, semiconductors, magnetic materials, medical implant materials and biological materials.
Prof. Rajiv Arora, Convener of the Conference, delivered an expert talk on the latest developments in catalytic materials in the field of nanotechnology, environmental technologies, process systems engineering, separation technology and reaction engineering. Prof. Bohar Singh presented informed that the world have required civil engineers to also focus on the reuse of valuable materials and resources.
