Follow-up Firing incident killing 2 persons: Ferozepur police nabbed 5 persons with weapons

Ferozepur, September 10, 2022: In a double murder case during firing at village Fateharh Sabhrawan on September 8, the Ferozepur police have nabbed five persons with recovery of 315 bore rifle and 12 bore pistol.

SSP Surendera Lamba informed that two persons Balraj Singh, 20 and Balwinder , 50 were killed in firing while three – Jaswant Singh, Gurjit Singh, Pargat Singh were injured.

A case was registered against 16 persons along with 25-30 unidentified persons, under Sections 302 and others of IPC. The police got success in arresting five persons namely Kabal Singh, Jaswant Singh, Gurdev Singh Fouji, Harbhajan Singh, were arrested on September 9 while Sukhdev Singh have been today. The remaining 11 identified accused are still at large.

He said, as per the complainant, there was a dispute of land around 15 acres in their relations with Kabal Singh and other which was going on over its division.  Out of which the alleged accused tried to take possession of 4 kanals and 8 marlas on September 8 as the girdawri was in their name.

SSP said, during the updated investigation,315 bore weapon has been recovered from gurdev Singh Fouji used during the firing incident and 12 bore weapon from Harbaajan Singh besides, 2 live cartridges, 2 missed cartridges 315 bore, 11 used cartridges, 2 sticks, one takua, one motorcycle and one tractor with cultivation implement.

He strongly said that no one indulging in any kind of crime will be spared and they will be dealt with strongest punishment as per the law.  Police is every ready to take care of the safety and security of the common man.

He also informed that 24 cases have been registered while 29 drug smugglers have been arrested during the month of September.   Apart from this, 7 Proclaimed Offenders (POs), 1 parole jumber have also been arrested while in all 97 accused have been arrested during the month of September in different cases.
