Car catches fire near railway crossing in Ferozepur – all passengers safe

Ferozepur, January 6, 2017:  The driver and three  co-passengers including a woman and a child had a narrow escape when a Maruti Car bearing registration No.PB 10 BE 0249 caught fire near railway crossing on Ferozepur-Malwal road today at 2.15 pm.

Babushahi.com correspondent was paddling on Ferozepur-Malwal road when the car burning was seen and after few minutes, there were noises of tyre bursting with heavy smoke in the air.

The car was coming from Malwal towards Ferozepur and suddenly I saw spark and smoke out of the engine of the car and slowly it spread in the whole car. I told my brother driving the car that our car is burning.  Anyhow, we came out safely with two-three small bags, shared Ranjit Singh Malwal.

People present at the site of the incident shared that the fire tender reached the spot after half an hour when the car was completely burnt.

Since the weather was cool, the car burnt due to overheating is not possible, shared another person at the scene.

The railway crossing was open but the traffic on the both sides was jammed due high flames in air and bursting of tyre and no train was passing.
