BSF foils bid to smuggle contraband in Ferozepur Sector, recovers 2.2 kg heroin
Ferozepur, April 4, 2020: On Monday, during wee hours, Border Security Force troops observed suspicious movement of a person on the other side of Border Security Fence and heard thumping sound, in the area of Ferozepur Sector under district Tarn-Taran.
BSF troops challenged & fired at the person (smuggler) 06 rounds, but he managed to run away, taking cover of standing crops.
On search of the area , 2 packets of contraband items suspected to be Heroin (Gross weight – 2.2 kgs) wrapped in yellow adhesive tape were recovered from the Indian side of Border Security Fence.
Vigilant BSF troops had once again foiled the nefarious attempts of anti-national elements to smuggle contraband. BSF is committed in fight against drugs, said BSF PRO.
