BSF foils another attempt to smuggle heroin near Indo-Pak border
Recovers 5 kg heroin pushed through water channel from Shameke BOP in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 9, 2019: On September 2019, alert Border Security Force troops seized five packets of contraband weighing approximately 5 kg suspected to be Heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post – Shameke, Ex-136 Bn BSF,Sector Ferozepur.
The suspected contraband was attempted to be pushed through water channel with help of water Hyacinth (Jalkumbhi).
The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into lndia.
During the year 2019, BSF has affected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border – Heroin 121.515 Kgs (including today's seizure of approx. 5 Kqs) Opium 11l Gms lndian border crosser apprehended 50 number lndian smugglers apprehended 9 number of Weapons (Different Types) 4 number of Ammunition (Various Calibers) 235 Rds, lndian SIM Cards 16, PAK SIM Cards 8 and 16 number of Indian Mobile Phones. Two kg of heroin was also recovered from this BOP only one day back.
