Army organizes facilitation of Pension Widows at Mamdot House over Special Welfare Meet in Ferozepur

 

Ferozepur, April 5, 2016 : Today, a Special Welfare Meet was conducted by the army to facilitate the pension widows at Mamdot House from five districts of Punjab – Ferozepur, Moga, Muktsar, Tarn Taran and Kapurthala, with a view to build up the confidence between the army and the family members of late veterans of Indian Army.

In a touching ceremony, about 300 wives of late veterans of Indian Army participated in the &#39Sampark Programme&#39. The invitees were provided opportunity to bring out their problems pertaining to health, pension etc.. To ensure the same, representatives from concerned offices like Zila Sainik Board, Records of PUNJAB SIKH, Sikh LI Regiment, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and DPDO were also made available to make note of the same and to expedite pending issues.

Speaking on this occasion, Lt. Gen J.S.Cheema, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps said that we all are a big family and if there are any problems with regard to their pension or otherwise, it is our duty to resolve them.
GOC further said that there are number of welfare schemes available for army personnel and their families including their recruitment, marriage of children, education and health. Your kids must go through the booklet handed over to you to avail the facilities as per their eligibiity.

Regarding One Rank One Pension (OROP), he said, the arrears are to be paid in four installments after proper checking for entitlement. All must cooperating in the tabulation of data even if the same has been provided earlier whenever any army official visit to them so that later on, none of the family member may have a problem while availing the benefits from the Army.

Besides this, we have also arranged physical and written training programees for those children who are interested to join the army at a very nominal charges so that they may join at their own ability and we will try to recruit them within the available rules, he added.

Mrs.Anupvir Kaur Cheema, Zonal President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) interacted with some of the invitees and listened to their grievances.
All the wives of late veterans of Indian Army were facilitated by Lieutenant General and Mrs. JS Cheema by presenting them with gifts including hearing aids, wheel chairs, walking sticks and other.

A Power Point Presentation (PPP) was also given to the participants about the various available schemes on this occasion.

On this occasion Major General Vijay Pingale, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division and Mrs. Neeta Pingale, Chairperson, Golden Arrow Family welfare Organization were also present.

Dyal Kaur (74) and Charan Kaur (72) of Village Asal Uthar, wives of late veterans said, “They are happy with the hospitality extended to them and facilities being provided to their families for taking care of them in the absence of their better-halves by the Army”…..
