Ferozepur, March 20,2016 : “Amar Jyoti” in memory of martyrs, will be installed at Martyrs’ Memorial Hussainiwala, at Indo-Pak border near Ferozepur, like the all time alive flame at India Gate at national capital New Delhi, by the Central Petroleum Ministry.

Among other demands from Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President during his meeting with the Central Petroleum Minister has given consent instantly for the installation of Amar Jyoti, confirmed Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner.

Added here that Amar Jyoti will be like Amar Jawan Jyoti which is continuously burning under the shrine of India Gate. After India got its independence, India Gate became the site of Amar Jawan Jyoti -Indian Army&#39s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is counted among the largest war memorials in India.  The Shrine of the Amar Jawan Jyoti is burning since 1971. It represents the flame of the immortal warrior that marks the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The words- “Amar Jawan” (Immortal Warrior) is inscribed in gold on each face of the cenotaph which is placed on an edifice. The edifice has four torches on its four corners, these torches are kept alive.

This shrine of the India Gate in Delhi was uncovered on January 26, 1972 by the Prime Minister of India during that time- Indira Gandhi. Since then, it is customary for the President and the Prime Minister to pay homage at the site during State ceremonies. Even while guests visit the state, they come here to visit the India Gate in Delhi India and pay homage at the site.

Er.Kharbanda said, a reference to this effect was made by the district administration to Central Petroleum Ministry and two members team from Indane Company accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Vijay Behal, had visited Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala to inspect the site for the installation of Amar Jyoti.  The team members have assured to initiate the proceedings in this context shortly, he added.

He further said, while the installation of Amar Jyoti at Hussainiwala Martyrs Memorial will  be a tribute to martyrs, it will also attract the tourist towards Martyrs’ Memorial.

A “Light and Sound Programme” on daily basis, is also under process at Hussainiwala, said Er.Kharbanda.
