AISF & AIYF’s ultimatum to police to cancel FIR against Chhangrai

Ferozepur, January 11, 2018: Today, All India Students Federation – AISF and All India Youth Federation – AIYF, jointly protested, supported by hundreds of youths, in front of the Police Bhawan to cancel the FIR against  State President, Charanjit Chhangarai by Guruharsahai police, under political ill-feeling.

The protest was led by State President, Paramjit Dhaban, Ferozepur President Piara Singh Megha, President AISF Satish Chhapri and State Treasurer, Narinder Kaur Sohal.

Addressing the protesters, State Secretary Sukhjinder Singh Maheshri and State President, Paramjit Dhaban said, the FIR has been registered by the police under political influence.

Paramjit Singh Dhaban said, both these Federations are supporting Chhangrai and have levelled charges against the usurping of land under political influence.  On October 12, 2017, Kashmiri Lal, Congress worker,  who had virtually grabbed virtually the owned land by Hakam Chand shopkeeper.  Despite protest and complaint to the police, no arrest was made in this case and CPI workers started agitation.  A false case was registered against Charanjit Chhangarai as he is actively pursuing the case of Hakam Chand.

Giving a week’s ultimatum, the protesters said, in case the FIR is not withdrawn within a weeks’ time, the youths of Punjab will intensify the agitation.
